Meet the Volunteer Coordinators

Deb and Daryl Mendrick have been volunteering at the TCSDR since the early 2000s, when the race was held at the Rainbow Lodge race location, and have kindly consented to take over the Volunteer Coordinator duties from Mike Varley.

They started out as dog handlers for several years and then progressed to directing teams to the starting line chute and helping to hold and release teams at their start time. If you’ve raced here before, you’ve definitely met them!

As the race moved to the new location at Muskallonge Lake State Park, Deb and Daryl continued to direct teams and work the starting line but also worked with Trail Boss Bob Shaw to help trim brush and prepare the race course by grooming and marking the trails.

Deb and Daryl are excited to be the newest Volunteer Coordinators and look forward to seeing everyone in January and for years to come.
